Located in Boulder, Colorado, the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Institute (RMHI) provides Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to supplement existing medical regimens.  RMHI also offers education to the general public regarding the positive effects and benefits of HBOT.  While HBOT is used to prevent and treat an increasing list of conditions, the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Institute specializes in head injuries and chronic wound care.

Come Join Us - Open House March 31, 2010

The Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Association for Brain Injuries will be holding an Open House on March 31, 2010 at 6:30 PM at the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Institute.  Join us for an insightful look at hyperbaric oxygen therapy.  The evening will include tours of the clinic, an educational session with both the medical director and the Program Director and information about our nonprofit.  Refreshments will also be served.

What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a FDA approved medical treatment which enhances the body's natural healing process by inhalation of 100% oxygen in a chamber where the atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled.  It has been employed for decades to treat a variety of conditions but is particularly useful in the fields of neurology and wound care.  The treatment process is safe, painless and comfortable and has few side effects.

The Boulder Daily Camera recently visted the clinic.  Please click on the link to read the story.

Pressure and Healing

Please read the recent article in the Boulder County Business Report regarding Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy:

Hyperbaric O2 Therapy Helps Some

How It Works

While in the chamber the patient is breathing 100%  pure oxygen which delivers up to 15 times as much oxygen to the tissues in the body than by breathing regular room air at normal atmospheric pressure.  Currently we have three comfortable monoplace chambers.  While receiving treatments patients watch movies, listen to music, read or take a nap.

Cici's Journey

When she was 11 months old, Cici suffered a severe anoxic brain injury following a choking incident which left her on a feeding tube, minimally responsive and severely disabled.  Cici has had over 40 hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments since that time and has shown some great progress.  October 29, 2009 was the one year anniversary of Cici's accident.  Click on Cici's picture below to see her journey to recovery.

  • New Addition

We are pleased to announce the addition of a third chamber.  As a safe, reliable and comfortable chamber in which to ride, the Sechrist 2500 is used to treat a multitude of symptoms.  The Sechrist 2500 series chambers have been the "workhorse" chambers of the clinical hyperbaric medical community in the United States since their introduction in the late 1970s.
